Today Fusion Records contacted me to publish the following message. A sad story but i guess most of us already seen this coming.

Fusion stops producing vinyls

After seventy vinyl-releases since 2002, Fusion Records has decided to stop pressing vinyls, to enlarge their focus on digital releases.
Due to big changes in the sales market, Fusion will switch to selling only the digital mediums like mp3 and wave.
Doing so, tracks can be released in a higher volume and especially faster when finished in the studio.
No amounts are set to be released each month, goal is to release a few weeks after the production-process has finished to keep the tracks as 'hot' as possible.

Possibility stays that special limited vinyls will be pressed on occasion.

Fusion Records would like to thank all the vinyl-freaks for their support during these last eight years and seventy releases.

Sad to see that vinyl is phasing-out, but also a good thing to release tracks hot off the press (ha-ha) instead of having to wait for the schedule.

Finally ? How did Fusion releasing vinlys too actually effect you when u did not buy them ?

That's damn sad. Although I'm partly switching to digital I'm going to buy both Toneshifterz E.P.'s to dignify Fusion's vinyls. :'(

With releasing Vinyl it takes longer for they put digital versions online!
Now Vinyl is dead, I can purchase my version faster online!

I think that difference is negligible.

Did anyone in the last year seeing a HS-DJ walking with a flightcase with vinyl's?
No, they just bring a cd-collection with them.

Okay, that's it. Saw that coming because of the new Pitcher Release without artwork, barcode and stuff. I'm sad, now. When I started 1,5 years ago even Scantraxx was Vinyl only. The Vinyl-thing faded away pretty fast.

The time of big labels, quality-guarantee and status symbols for the artists comes to an end. In 5 years we have Iphones, that can beatmatch and interact with the crowd automatically without human influences. A cheer for the technical evolution!

Fusion was releasing like 2 releases per month ? Thats even faster than most of digital labels.

Yow, a cheer for rushed releases and productions that are outdated after one week because the next releases are due.
